Furthermore, a significant reduction in the toxicity of the degradation products was observed using the zebrafish animal model. A newly discovered dye-decolorizing peroxidase (DyP-PE) from P. eryngii was amplified, cloned, and expressed. The purified 56.4 kDa DyP-PE strongly decolorized MG, suggesting potentially application in the bioremediation of MG pollution. Thus, the DyP-PE derived from P. eryngii may contribute to the degradation of MG.
