Medium relevanceChlorocilliumsinense sp. nov. (Clavicipitaceae) and Calcarisporiumguizhouense sp. nov. (Calcarisporiaceae) in Hypocreales from China.
Cordyceps militaris
Key points
- Two new species, Chlorocilliumsinense and Calcarisporiumguizhouense, isolated from a spider and fruiting body of Cordyceps sp., are introduced
- Morphological comparisons and phylogenetic analyses based on multigene datasets (ITS+LSU+ RPB2 + tef -1alpha) support the establishment of the new species
- A combined dataset of ITS, LSU, RPB2, and tef -1alpha showed the taxonomic placement of Chlorocillium in Clavicipitaceae for the first time
- Pseudometarhizium is regarded as a synonym of Chlorocillium and two Pseudometarhizium species are transferred into the latter based on the phylogenetic analysis and morphological characteristics
