Abstract

An anti-oxidative compound isolated from Inonotus obliquus is provided to show the antioxidative activity due to superoxide radical scavenging effect, ABTS radical scavenging effect and DPPH radical scavenging effect, thereby being used as a medicine, a cosmetic, a functional food or a food additive for preventing and treating various diseases such as cancer, arteriosclerosis, arthritis, stroke, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and auto-immune diseases and for inhibiting skin aging. An anti-oxidative composition comprises at least one compound selected from the group consisting of inonoblin A represented by a formula(1), inonoblin B represented by a formula(2), phelligridin E represented by a formula(4) and phelligridin G represented by a formula(5), wherein the compound is isolated from Inonotus obliquus.
