Abstract
A method of manufacturing a health functional food using agricultural byproducts such as rice bran and buckwheat bran is provided to offer a synergistic effect which enhances immune function, reduces cholesterol and regulates blood sugar levels and be useful for treating and preventing diabetes. Phellinus linteus 6190 is cultured at 25deg.C for 45 days. Each rice bran and buckwheat bran is put into Phellinus linteus 6190 and cultured to produce mycelium containing rice bran of Phellinus linteus 6190-A and mycelium containing buckwheat bran of Phellinus linteus 6190-B. AHCC and fagopyritol are extracted from Phellinus linteus mycelium. Fagopyritol and arabinoxylan are extracted from buckwheat bran. Arabinoxylan are beta-glucan and are extracted from rice bran. A phaseolamin-tannin complex is obtained from Phaseolus vulgaris extract and green tea extract.
