Abstract

The present invention relates to a herbal mixture extract of Pleurotus eryngii,Acanthopanacis Cortex and Notoginseng Radix and a compositionfor prevention and treatment of periodontal disease containing the herbal mixtureextract as an active ingredient, more precisely, a herbal mixture extract havingactivities of inhibiting the generation and activation of osteoclasts by enhancingthe expression of osteoprotegerin (OPG) in osteoblasts, preventing alveolarbone from destruction by inhibiting the proliferation of osteoclasts and maintainingthe growth of periodontal ligament cells and gingival fibroblasts, and a compositionfor prevention and treatment of periodontal disease containing the above mixtureas an active ingredient.
