Abstract

Disclosed is a strain of turkey tail mushroom (Trametes versicolor) having excellent biological activities (Accession number: FERM BP-10633). The strain is excellent in platelet aggregation inhibitory effect, chemokine gene expression inhibitory effect, anti-mutagenic effect, anti-tumor effect, anti-hypertensive effect and immunomodulating effect. When the strain is used in combination with a microalga or other basidiomycete, the effect of the strain is improved synergistically. The strain has a high safety, is less likely to cause an adverse side effect even when used continuously for a prolonged period of time, and can be used effectively in a beverage, cosmetic, pharmaceutical or the like that is intended to be used for the prevention/improvement of an inflammation, an allergy, a tumor or other disease. The strain has extremely increased hypha growth property and shows extremely higher physiological functions compared to conventional strains and therefore can be used stably.
